When a regular citizen (like Joe the Plumber) asks an important or provocative question of a presidential candidate or through some other simple action becomes a significant figure in an election, what do you think the campaigns’ responses should be?

  1. Milk it for all its worth. he put himself in the spotlight. Besides, the gloves are off.
  2. Use the example as a way of attacking your opponent, then move on to something else.
  3. Let it slide. He didn’t ask to be in the public eye. The Constitution still grants us the right to privacy, right? Or did Gonzales redact that?
